TODOR KOBAKOV TO SCORE THE SAMARITAN FOR DAVID WEAVER

Toronto composer Todor Kobakov has signed on to provide the music for David Weaver’s The Samaritan, which stars Samuel L. Jackson, Luke Kirby and Ruth Negga.

Kobakov is supplying a tension-filled score for the neo-noir thriller that in a statement he said combined “a rather dark mix of piano, strings and electronic undertones.”

The Samaritan was shot in Toronto and Rio de Janiero last spring.

The ensemble cast includes Tom Wilkinson, Deborah Kara Unger, Gil Bellows, Tom McCamus, Martha Burns, and Diana LeBlanc.

The Canadian picture was produced by Andras Hamori, Suzanne Cheriton and Tony Wosk for Motion Pictures Production in association with Lumino Pictures, Middle Child Films and Quickfire Films.

Kobakov’s recent credits include Monster Brawl, a horror comedy that debuted at the 2011 Fantasia International Film Festival, and  Cold Blooded, an indie crime thriller from first-time director Jason Lapeyre.
